Snowmobiling
On
a clear day you can see forever . . . . especially from
Hart's Pass. Explore the backcountry, travel the groomed
trails and get to know the valley from the seat of a snowmobile.

Stop
by the Methow Valley Ranger District office to find out
where some of the best snowmobile riding in the valley is
happening. (509) 997-2131. The Methow Valley has access
to about half of the county's 384 miles of groomed snowmobile
trails.

One
of the more popular rides is from the Boulder Creek SnoPark
(in the Methow Valley) over to Conconully via Baldy Pass (in
the Okanogan Valley). Once in Conconully, snowmobilers can
gas up and stop for a bite to eat, since Conconully is one
of two towns in Washington that permit snowmobiling on the
town streets. Once you're in town, you have access to numerous
trails in the Okanogan National Forest right from Conconully.
The annual Conconully Christmas parade of snowmobiles, with
red and green cellophane taped over their lights, makes for
a colorful display for the holiday season. Don't miss this
event in December. More information about Conconully call

Up-to-date information on snowmobile conditions, maps and
county roads open for snowmobiling is available from the Okanogan
County Dept. of Public Works at 509 422-7324.
